 PRESS RELEASE

EUGENIA ALGAZE GARCIA RECEIVES SPECIAL RECOGNITION

Artist EUGENIA ALGAZE GARCIA of HOUSTON, TX has received a Special Recognition Merit Award for her artwork entitled "A Brother’s Love" in the "8th Annual Faces International Online Juried Art Exhibiton" hosted by www.upstreampeoplegallery.com.

This international exhibition received over 600 entries from around the world and 100 artists were selected by the juror Larry Bradshaw, Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Professor Bradshaw states this about her specially recognized work:

"Although not actually about faces as such, there are faces in Eugenia Algaze Garcia’s piece "A Brother’s Love". Here is a presentation of
recognizing the unborn child and showing how the young love one another, even the unseen - very engaging as a very important work."

The exhibition will be on display online at
www.upstreampeoplegallery.com for 12 months through March 1, 2007

Further comments about the artist’s work are as follows:

"A Brother's Love", a pencil drawing of a pregnant mother (the artist 7 years ago) on the beach with her son, captures the loving feelings of a mother and her almost 4 year old son toward the unseen "face" of a sibling in Mom's tummy. The artwork also shows the "faces" of hidden symbolic companions dog, bear, alligator, and a busy mom running, which
delves into the sometimes conflicting feelings felt toward an impending birth of a sibling. A "hidden" snail shape on Mom's tummy is the favorite creature of the now almost 7 year old child that was "hidden"
in that same belly.

This artwork is part of Eugenia Algaze Garcia's Mindful Art Birth Series. [One of the goals of Garcia's birth series is to help BIRTH, a nonprofit organization in Houston, promote
awareness of the variety of resources available to women and families.
